The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby was a book we read which in my opinion was really good but confusing at times. The purpose of reading the book was because we then as a team had to make a 1920s caffe which we called The Gatsby Caffe. The first room looked like a caffe there were tables and there students dressed as if they were in the 1920s showed videos to the people. Then once the video was over they had to go to a bookshelf and say the secret password because in the second room there was a casino. The secret word was Gatsby Gives me Green light. We were divided in committees and we all had different things to do. I was in the bar committee, we basically built a bar which came out amazing. We were serving drinks without alcohol and we were creative with the names. The names of the drinkes included characters and themes of the book, for example; Daisy Temple, East Egg Iced Tea, Gatsby's Old Sport, and Summer Love Sunrise. We had to be at the bar giving drinks. Humanities: The humanities part of the project was learning aout the 1920s, reading the book and analyzing it, writing an essay and creating the decorations. Math: The math part of the project was that we had to learn about combinations and permutations and we had to create the games that were going to be played at the casino as well as the tables and the bar. This was my committee. Biology: The biology part of the project was the videos of addictions and murals that were painted. |
