Sonnet

Back to Humanities

Our task is was to make a sonnet based on the Shakespearean sonnet 130 and to do it in an unconventional language you had to do it about love and since i did not do it about love i have to redo it.

First Sonnet

I want to buy a big round apple pie

But i don't have enough baking powder
I need to buy but i am very shy

My mo m said i only have half an hour

My daddies notes and work got very wet

He asked if the apple pie was ready

I told my dad that he would have to wait
I said daddy please don't be like Eddie

At night i went and ate a little piece

I grabbed a cup and served a lot of milk
And then i had a very bad decease

So i laid on the couch made out of silk

I woke up late and ate a piece of cake

I served coffee so i could be awake

Rewriting Sonnet 130

Shakespeare's Sonnet 130 is a poem about describing the one you love in unordinary or unconventional ways. Your job is to rewrite the Shakespearean sonnet in your own language. They are a couple of rules:

  • It must be 14 lines
  • It must contain 3 quatrains and a couplet
  • It must have an abab, cdcd, efef, gg rhyme scheme
  • It must have an iambic pentameter (10 syllables per line)
  • It must be in your own modern language

Second Sonnet

Sonnet about the pie

Compare pie: To an elephant or something unconventional.
smell:Play dough, Gasoline, new car.
taste:Jelly beans with peanut butter.
touch:How flour and water feel when they are together.

I love you as a lion loves his pray

For me you are the king of royalty

Without your love my whole daylight is gray

Our love is nothing without loyalty

Your love is cold like the flames of hell

An your kisses are as warm as winter

I hear your voice, it's like a lovely bell

And our love runs as slow as a sprinter

Your skin is soft like a crocodile

Your hands are rough and gentle as cotton

And i love it when you look at me and smile

And your hair looks like rotten

We're ment to be together for ever

And if you love me you will be clever
